An ancient technique called chasing and repoussé creates this common bug Hemiptera or Stink Bug. The repoussé process raises and creates the shapes of the wings and body of fine silver. A lined texture details the wings and the thorax of each insect. Selected areas are highly polished. 24k yellow gold Keum-boo has been fused to the wings and body of the insect.

This piece should not be worn when applying perfumes/colognes, hair spray, lotions etc. It should not be exposed to water or moisture since the sealant is a water based product. I suggest wiping the necklace with a soft, cotton cloth upon removal from your neck. Keeping the necklace in an airtight ziplock enclosure will deter patination or oxidation. This will also keep the gold leaf from being marred or scratched.
