These Jewel Beetle copper earrings are chased and repoussé creating the overall form of the beetle. Lines are chased on each wing and a stippled texture is given to the thorax. These beetles are light weight as there is no backing behind the beetles. They hang from a sterling silver French wire

This piece should not be worn when applying perfumes/colognes, hair spray, lotions etc. It should not be exposed to water or moisture since the sealant is a water based product. I suggest wiping the necklace with a soft, cotton cloth upon removal from your neck. Keeping the necklace in an airtight ziplock enclosure will deter patination or oxidation. This will also keep the gold leaf from being marred or scratched.
