Oak Leaf Mezuzah
Oak Leaf Mezuzah
This mezuzah was created out of Genevieve’s love of oak leaves. She feels that the oak tree represents strength and it represents the resiliency of the Jewish religion.
Each mezuzah is cut from a sheet of Argentium silver and then chased with lines to create the veins of the oak leaves. It is then formed slightly to create some movement in the piece. A small silver cap is placed at the back of the mezuzah along with a silver ring to hold the glass tube that accommodates the prayer scroll and protects it from the elements. A fine silver letter Shin has been placed at the bottom of the front leaf. The Shin has had a heavy 24k yellow gold sheet fused to the letter in an ancient Korean technique called Keum-boo.
